The beginning
Steadfast sprung from the creative minds of David Renshaw and Tim Butler in December of 2006. They met while working at Thrasher, Slap and Juxtapoz magazines in San Francisco in the late 90’s. As they moved on in separate directions the bond of a common culture in skateboarding, art/punk/hardcore kept them connected. Tim moved on from his position as art director of Slap Skateboard Magazine and began working in the screen printing and music merchandising industry for one of the largest print shops in the SF Bay Area. Tim was now designing products for some of the biggest names in the music industry. Meanwhile, while pursuing a degree in art, David developed a successful brand of products promoting unity in Oakland. Around the same time David acquired his retiring fathers screen-printing shop and approached Tim about creating a shop in Oakland. The idea was simple; to create a vehicle to give voice to the communities they love.

In August of 2011 Tim bought out Dave's interest in Steadfast and pushed the business into new areas and expanded their offerings to include far more than embelished apparel.
